This is a typical example of Moroccan Berber fibula. The fibula, an ancient safety pin brought to the Atlas mountains from Rome, became an ornament for everyday life and for special occasions in the life of the Berber tribe. The rounded shapes, signifies a serpent, which is a sign of virility, regeneration, and is also a talisman against even spirits.
